Website 1 (Inspiration)

Sinan Al-Defa'i

When we decided that we want to use a webapp for our scavenger hunt idea, I immediately searched for inspiration and ideas about how we’re going to execute this.
After some research i proposed some ideas to the group about the look of the website. One of those ideas was to make a horizontal carousel/slider, where you can go through the timelines which we created for Enschede. This idea still had a lot of flaws which i’ll go through in the next blog posts. The group liked the idea, and we went with it. This idea looked something like this on mobile.

The design looked nothing like how we wanted it, but the functionality was the most important thing for now. I ended up using the idangerous Swiper framework. It has a lot of built in functionalities. In the beginning it still was alot of figuring out, but in the end there were alot of benefits to this framework.

Demo sprint 1

DEMO sprint 1

We started the week on Tuesday. Demo sprint 1 was marked in our agenda, we needed to show our work in the first two weeks. Magrit and Yvens came to us for our presentation and listened carefully.

We had a short but logical presentation, it could have included more detailed information. Magrit and Yvens where giving good feedback, feedback what we could use for our own benefit, but also some feedback was a bit harsh, because we thought this was only two weeks of work. The feedback was based on the assessment form which helped us realise what needs to be done.

Some feedback points were that our character needed more connection to our target audience. We needed a more cohesive product and they were not sure about our target audience.

Another feedback points is that we not to work out the concept more in detail.

Design document

For the design document we firstly had a briefing from Harry, what he expected from us and what would be discussed in his lessons, The lesson started with the information on the first 7 points of the document.

We needed to make a:

The first 7 needed to be completed at first. After we had the second lecture, we needed to complete the others too.

Currently we finished all items from the list above, we handed it in to Harry and Rene. We will receive feedback on this document the week after. We will keep editing this document through out the project as things will change and get updated.

Jury visit

Femke Zwart, Uncategorized

The jury visited Saxion and we got a chance to show us our One pager. Whilist mostly positive, they gave us a few points of feedback:

  • What is the story you want to tell
  • Does it ‘fit’ your Target group
  • How will you reach your Target group

We will discuss as a team on how to tackle these problems and we will resolve these for our next meeting

One Pager

Uncategorized

We will have a meeting with Promotie Enschede so we had to create a One-pager. In this One-pager our visual identity will be clear towards our client and also the concept we are trying to convey

We will process the feedback that we will get upcoming meeting with the team of promotie Enschede an iterate our design

Store location

Femke Zwart, Uncategorized

Today we walked into the city with part of the team. We walked through the street that was allocated to us.

We have discussed this during the week in the meetings we had together. As we were discussing our concept we were mostly focussed on how and what story to tell. we slightly forgot that we have to pick a store.

We figured out that most stores do not have any connection to our concept, which makes it harder for us to find the right store to place their installation in front of.

We figured that the only store which makes sense to use with our concept is T-mobile, as the users will be using their phones throughout the scavenger hunt. We also are going to Koelink aswell

Week 2

Femke Zwart, Uncategorized

During this week we focused on getting a more concrete concept. During the consults we received feedback from the teachers, we received mostly positive feedback.

The feedback caused us to develop our concept further and get new ideas. We had many ideas together, too many.

We narrowed down our ideas to smaller ones each lesson. We started developing a scavenger hunt game. At first we had 18 possible moments from history that we wanted to show. We narrowed it down to 5 total locations through Enschede, each telling a different story.

The story will be told through a character with small animations or voice overs. The end goal for the user is to de-code the safe by walking the route we created.

The user will have to go to the location on the map in order to be able to see the animation/quiz/ or game, you cannot do this without going to the location. after completing the quiz for example with the right answer the user will receive a letter or a number in order to open the safe.

We also have decided that we would like to keep one theme throughout each location, this theme will be like peaky blinders. However we want to include an element of each time stamp of the location in the animation or game.

We decided that we want to keep a main theme, because having 5 different themes is quite confusing for the user.

in order to be able to have the user see the games, and animations on location, we are consider geolocation, internet, passwords, or QR-codes.

Another point is that we need to find a location for our installation which is related to our concept.

Concept development

Uncategorized

Our first stage was to create and develop our idea. We used several brainstorm methods: a mind-map, COCD box and many more. At the bottom of this post you will see some pictures of our brainstorm session. Together with H. Paasen and …. we got feedback and improved our charts.

With all the ideas and words we wrote down we played a game together with H.Paasen. The purpose of the game was to think out of the box for more concepts. Every card had his own question related to a subject. We needed to answer those questions with our brainstorm ideas.

Later that day we chose some keywords that we wrote down. With those brainstorm sessions words we came up with an idea and out of that idea we made a one pager.

Drive, scrum en Blog

GOOGLE drive For easier communication and workflow I made a google drive group. In this project file we made 3 sprints, sprint 0, 1, 2 and 3. Every sprint consists of some weeks of work. Everyone in our group has authorization to add and delete files in the drive. Files, documents, pictures everything we make and use is on the drive.

BLOG The blog is obvious but we needed a platform to blog our progress and iterative process.

Scrum For our planning scrum method we used Trello. Trello is a scrum based planning method….
