Week 2

During this week we focused on getting a more concrete concept. During the consults we received feedback from the teachers, we received mostly positive feedback.

The feedback caused us to develop our concept further and get new ideas. We had many ideas together, too many.

We narrowed down our ideas to smaller ones each lesson. We started developing a scavenger hunt game. At first we had 18 possible moments from history that we wanted to show. We narrowed it down to 5 total locations through Enschede, each telling a different story.

The story will be told through a character with small animations or voice overs. The end goal for the user is to de-code the safe by walking the route we created.

The user will have to go to the location on the map in order to be able to see the animation/quiz/ or game, you cannot do this without going to the location. after completing the quiz for example with the right answer the user will receive a letter or a number in order to open the safe.

We also have decided that we would like to keep one theme throughout each location, this theme will be like peaky blinders. However we want to include an element of each time stamp of the location in the animation or game.

We decided that we want to keep a main theme, because having 5 different themes is quite confusing for the user.

in order to be able to have the user see the games, and animations on location, we are consider geolocation, internet, passwords, or QR-codes.

Another point is that we need to find a location for our installation which is related to our concept.

Our first stage was to create and develop our idea. We used several brainstorm methods: a mind-map, COCD box and many more. At the bottom of this post you will see some pictures of our brainstorm session. Together with H. Paasen and …. we got feedback and improved our charts.

With all the ideas and words we wrote down we played a game together with H.Paasen. The purpose of the game was to think out of the box for more concepts. Every card had his own question related to a subject. We needed to answer those questions with our brainstorm ideas.

Later that day we chose some keywords that we wrote down. With those brainstorm sessions words we came up with an idea and out of that idea we made a one pager.

GOOGLE drive For easier communication and workflow I made a google drive group. In this project file we made 3 sprints, sprint 0, 1, 2 and 3. Every sprint consists of some weeks of work. Everyone in our group has authorization to add and delete files in the drive. Files, documents, pictures everything we make and use is on the drive.

BLOG The blog is obvious but we needed a platform to blog our progress and iterative process.

Scrum For our planning scrum method we used Trello. Trello is a scrum based planning method….
